Connecting for the first time
First, of course, you need to connect! You can either connect through the web by clicking here or use a Telnet client and connect to muck.triforcemuck.com port 4201. We recommend connecting through the web at first, and then switching to a telnet client, since it will give you many more options (saving your gaming sessions, customizing the screen, etc.)
You will see Triforce MUCK’s welcome screen! Since you don’t have a character, connect as a guest by typing the following:
connect guest guest
And you are in! You will find yourself in a room. You can probably see the description and exits.
You can take a look around you at any moment by typing ‘look‘ (without the quotes). Easy, huh? :>
To see who is connected, type ‘find‘ (without the quotes).
You will see a list of the people who are connected.
If you need help at any moment, you can talk to any of the people connected by typing page NameOfCharacter = message
For example, if you see that Link is online and you want to ask him for help, you would type ‘page link=help me, I am new and lost!’ (again, without the quotes) or something similar.
And most important, what to do to request a character?! Well, first of all, you must have an idea of what you want your character to be. Think of any race from Zelda games, gender, approximate age, a physical description, and a small background history so that you know why your character is in Hyrule or Termina and what they do there. Be creative, especially when describing! Think about what other people would see when they look at your character.
And of course, your character’s name! Make sure that it is a name that would fit a character in the Zelda world, and that it does not have any numbers or anything like that… you wouldn’t want to have an ‘Elvis’ or Link1111.
Once you are ready, type ‘@request‘ (without the quotes). Make sure that you enter a correct E-mail address when asked, so that we can send you your character’s password once it is created. We look forward to meeting you and roleplaying with you! :>
